Right now, the snow is melting fast, and the rivers are running high. What does that mean? That the whitewater rafting season is in full swing! Grab your family and friends, and sign up for an Aspen rafting trip today.
In Aspen and Snowmass, there are a handful of local businesses that offer guided rafting trips. They provide trips for all skill levels—from the first-timer to the advanced paddler. Raft guides do their best to make the whitewater experience fun and safe for everyone.
Find the right rafting trip for your skill level.
Interested in a whitewater adventure, but unsure of what’s the right trip for you? Here’s a brief overview of where to go rafting by skill level.
For first-time rafters and beginners who are still new to the sport, rafting trips on the middle and lower Roaring Fork River and Colorado River are the perfect fit. The rapids on these stretches of river deliver a fun experience that won’t overwhelm the beginner.
For the intermediate and advanced, book a trip on the upper Roaring Fork or on the Arkansas River. The Arkansas is located on the Leadville side of Independence Pass, as opposed to the Aspen side.
Please note that the above is a brief overview of what’s suggested for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. We highly recommend speaking with one of the Aspen rafting companies for further guidance on which trip is best for you and your family. Some of the most popular companies include Aspen Whitewater Rafting, Blazing Adventures, and Elk Mountain Expeditions.
