Where to Park in Snowmass

Ski Snowmass, Vacation Prep

Taking up 3,128 acres, Snowmass is the largest ski area of the four Aspen Snowmass mountains. Snowmass is most known for wide open (and long) cruiser runs, plenty of quality runs for every ski level, and its overall family-friendly atmosphere. With a bigger mountain comes more choices — which includes not only which lifts to choose, but where to park.

There are numerous options which vary in cost and convenience. We’ve created this guide to help you make the best choice.

Ask a Concierge

If you’re staying at a rental property, your easiest option is to speak with your concierge directly. Tell them your plans, and they’ll provide you with directions, maps, and custom insider advice to get you to and from Snowmass efficiently.

The Aspen Snowmass App

If you’re technology-savvy, the easiest place to find up-to-date parking information is the Aspen Snowmass app, which you can find in the Apple App store or via Google Play. Do note that the app is only available when you’re connected to cell phone data service or WiFi. Due to the nature of being located in a mountainous area (and while Aspen Snowmass does provide free WiFi to guests), you always won’t be in range — so you may want to plan ahead. If you check the app before you leave and see that your favorite lot is full, you’ll be able to easily reroute.

After you’ve downloaded the app, open it, then click the greyed-out “Mountains” icon at the bottom of the screen.

You’ll then notice a blue “Parking Information” bar at the top of the “Mountains” tab.

If you click on the “Parking Information” bar, you’ll be taken to a screen which shows all of the Aspen Snowmass parking lots along with additional details (paid, bus route) and current status (open, over 75% full, full, unattended, closed).

Parking on Your Own…

For Free — During the Day

Brush Creek & Highway 82 Intercept Lot. Colorado Rd. 10, Aspen CO 81611. Also known as the “Brush Creek Park & Ride,” the Brush Creek Intercept Lot sits 5 miles outside of Aspen and Snowmass, just east of Highway 82 at Brush Creek Road. You’ll turn east at the traffic light and park, then pick up the free RFTA “4 Mountain Connector” shuttle every 15 minutes, which will take you to Snowmass Mountain. Note: Overnight parking is NOT allowed.

Town Park Station (“Rodeo Lot”): 2909 Brush Creek Rd, Aspen, CO 81611. While not right next to the ski area, parking in the rodeo lot is free. Free bus shuttles to Snowmass ski area leave the lot every 20 minutes from 6:40-7:20am, then every 10 minutes from 7:30am–5:20pm. There’s a waiting area where the  free shuttle returns to the lot. Note: Overnight parking is NOT allowed.

Two Creeks Lot. 31 Burnt Mountain Cir, Snowmass Village, CO 81615. Right at the base of Snowmass’ Two Creeks lift, this lot is available year-round, but parking is only free to all cars during the summer; during the ski season, only HOV (cars with 4+ passengers) park for free.

Snowmass Mall. 105 Daly Ln, Snowmass Village, CO 81615. If you’re going to stop by Snowmass for less than two hours, you may get lucky enough to find a free short-term parking spot in Lot 6 or upper Lot 5. In the winter, brief skiing is possible if you carry your skis to the end of the mall and ski down the hill to catch the Village Express lift or Elk Camp Gondola, then return to the mall via Fanny Hill.

Base Village Parking Garage. Located near the Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center in Snowmass Base Village, this garage is only free during the summer months. It becomes a paid (and very convenient) option during ski season.

Snowmass Village Numbered Lots. During the summer only, parking in all of the Village Lots is FREE. You’ll need to contact the Snowmass Police Department for assistance, though, if you’ve got a large vehicle or trailer.

Paid Parking — During the Day

Note that even with paid parking, you won’t be spending the night without a permit. Two Creeks and Base Village are the two main paid parking lots at Snowmass; you’re paying for the convenience, since no bus rides are required and you’ll be close enough to the lifts to walk right from your car.

Base Village Parking Garage. The parking garage entrance is just down the road from the Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center in Snowmass Base Village. During the ski season, the convenience of this option requires payment by the hour (the first hour is free). You’ll take a ticket when entering and pay upon departure: $8 per hour after the first, with a maximum of $56 per day. Paid parking is enforced between 7:30am and 5pm (effectively free after 4pm due to the free first hour).

Snowmass Village Numbered Lots. The Snowmass Village Numbered Lots surround the Snowmass Village Mall and ski slopes and require permits during the Winter Season. While Lot 5 and Lot 6 are always free for short-term parking (assuming availability), winter permits require purchase on the Snowmass Transit site

Two Creeks Lot. 31 Burnt Mountain Cir, Snowmass Village, CO 81615. A short walk (no stairs!) from Snowmass’ Two Creeks ski lift, this lot requires per-day payment unless you’re bringing 4+ people with you (in which case, you can park for free). You’ll pay (and get a receipt for display) as you enter the lot. The Two Creeks Lot is $25/day on weekdays and $35/day on weekends & holidays. Permit is required from 8am until noon daily. Spaces are limited, permits do not guarantee a spot.
